SENIOR'S SEWCIAL$25 for 2 hours (min. 4 guests)
This is a “sewing and tea” afternoon experience specifically designed with our special seniors in mind. Previous participants have included women who have sewn in the past, but whose skills are diminished by age. Most were between 85 & 98 years old & who reside in assisted living. The afternoon provides a wonderful opportunity for reminiscing about sewing they have done throughout their lives. It is truly amazing to see how the muscle memory is still there. Sewing is totally optional! Just being in the sewing environment seems to stimulate creativity in this age group. Family members are welcome to accompany the participant and will probably be recruited to make the tea! A list of names can be taken until there are 4 participants.
QUILTING CLASSESSewing by the Sea partners with Edna Roberts of Sew’n Sews Fabrics & Quilting. Available upon request.

MENTORING THROUGH SEWING
$20 for 1 hour
Youth mentoring through volunteering with the John Howard’s KidStart program has been of particular interest for Colleen for the past several years. She has used sewing as a type of art therapy for several at-risk, or disadvantaged youth. She develops a good rapport with the students and provides a safe & comfortable atmosphere for discovering creativity, while building confidence & relationship.
Pricing is based on sole registration, however, I am happy to design a custom class from 2 - 6 students, depending on the project. Ideas could include sewing for your children, sewing for charity, parent/child, girls night out or "sewcials". Please email me with your ideas or requests. Also, please follow our Facebook and Instagram pages for special events.
